About Dana Risedorf, MS-ABA

Clinical Therapist

I specialize in skill shaping and acquisition, planning and practicing strategies for alleviating anxiety around social situations and anticipating coping and reactive strategies for emotional regulation. Informed by principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), I know the success of breaking a daunting task or goal into smaller parts and encourages others to practice taking one step at a time. I will highlight the client’s unique skillset and interests while taking a collaborative and curious approach to goal setting for learning new habits and thought patterns.

I am so excited by the opportunity to get to know each person I meet, so we can trouble-shoot life’s difficulties together and enjoy celebrations of success. I am grateful that I continue to learn and develop my own supportive skills through client relationships. I truly believe everyone already holds skills and character traits that are worth celebrating, and that you are special right where you are now. Additionally, I believe that you are too special not to continue to grow throughout your life. What can we start on next?

Dana has grown her expertise with all ages of people diagnosed with Autism and other co-occurring diagnoses including severe emotional disorders and ADHD. Dana received a Master of Science degree in Psychology specified in ABA in 2021. She has spent years practicing under the supervision of board-certified analysts to design treatment plans and use a trained eye to recognize behavior patterns. She loves to think of creative approaches for skill practice and acquisition.

She grew up in Colorado and values time spent outdoors. She enjoys the simple pleasures of reading or writing by a river in the fresh air, hiking and camping, and a homecooked meal. She values her strong friendships and knows that life is as rich as the people you cultivate with.
